I'm honored to know and be informed that I will be the recipient of today's Abraham Kuyper, 1837-1920 Prize I was shocked to death because I'm truly unworthy at all, I've ever wanted is to serve the Lord with my whole heart and become an useful servant in His hands I should be honest to tell you I became an orphan since 3 years old my father died suddenly after he had dinner and then he never returned to the table he believed in Jesus an year before his death he had gone to heaven with the Lord and my mother cried to God in tears You are the father of orphans and You are the defender of widows Preserve me, be a holy woman I will never get married again and give me power and wisdom to raise my eight children at that time, one of them died, another one given away my mother still have seven boys and a girl in her fervent prayer, constantly every morning at 5:00 those are the first voice I hear every day the prayer of a very faithful widow before God so I should say, the one who influenced me the most in this world is my mother and the second one who influenced me the most is Dr Andrew Gi when I was little, I listened to his preaching very carefully he preached with all his heart, full of emotion and truly fervent for the Lord I was always shedding tears while listening to his evangelistic messages Jesus died for you! Jesus raised again to release you! and to redeem you from the power of Satan all those messages truly shook my heart and attracted me to become a servant of God when I was 12 years old Andrew Gi came to Surabaya 21 nights of meetings I attended 15 nights and the final night I presented a letter to him please pray for me I want to be the servant of God in tears I came forward stood before more than 1,000 audience at the meeting and I pray to God: Use me! and let this old pastor lead me, guide me and bring me to Jesus more and more after that he left an year after I became 13 years old 13 years to 16 years old I became a communist became an evolutionist became an atheist but in the end of being 16 years old I prayed in tears if you are the true God change me convince me give me a new heart to return to you finally Dr. Andrew Gi came to Indonesia again and he answered questions about evolution, Darwinism, Communism, Marxism and everything finally I was convinced that Bible is the only truth only Jesus Christ is the Lord and Savior those people Lenin, 1870–1924, Stalin,1878—1953 they are deceivers and I returned to Jesus Christ again in an evening meeting held by Andrew Gi he gave us five cry from the Bible Father, Son, Holy Spirit, apostles and finally the cry from hell I never heard any preacher talking about the cry from hell what is that? the rich man begged Abraham "Please send Lazarus to my house because I still have five brothers they don't know Christ convince them so they will become Christians." So I was crying too I said: even people in hell love people, and wanted to save sinners more than Christians do Could I just stand here? Could I just stay here and not preaching nor evangelizing people and waste my life? I cried so bad my shirt was all wet and I went forward to say "God, if You want to use me here I am I want to serve You till the end of my life every day, non stop, I am Yours." And that night was the night I rededicate myself to the Lord and I've never changed in the rest of my life until today I never regret it, not one second in my life because I am the Lord's servant I didn't wait till I graduated from seminary I didn't wait till I got ordained to be a preacher I am a servant of God I am a preacher from that time on I bought thousands of gospel leaflet and I went to distribute and convince everybody to believe in Jesus He is the only savior beside Jesus there's no redeemer no hope for your life except for you to return to Jesus Christ until today so when I see or I know anybody is distributing gospel leaflet on streets, I love him to death because it reflects what I did when I was young I bought 5,000 leaflet I promised God I will preach to 5,000 people every year and invite them to come to Jesus Christ not to church because I know many churches are so cold so unsympathetic to people I do not want people evangelize and go to church and to be condemned to death there I tell them: Now you believe in Jesus you should have fellowship with your friends pray together and go to evangelize others because only Jesus can save us every day I get on streets convincing people to believe in Jesus I bought train tickets to visit other towns houses by houses I distribute the leaflet and ask people to believe in Jesus thousands and thousands of flyers each year I did that until 20 years old within three years I preached 862 times in a Christian school to convince young students to believe in Jesus Christ after 862 times of preaching in the school I went to Bible college at that time I was so enthusiast to be trained in Bible in theology to become a servant of God Praise the Lord! My vision weren't in vain my vision have not changed until now Since the first day I dedicate, it remain the same Year after year passes the zealous never change when Abraham Kuyper died, I was not born yet after 20 years, I became a newborn baby so I never knew who Abraham Kuyper was He had nothing to do with me and I had never been influenced by him ,not a bit but afterward I listen to Andrew Gi I dedicate myself to be His servant and I went sharing flyers everywhere, on the street in the gate of the communist school I went into the Catholic hospital room after room, I shared flyers and I prayed for the sick people when I was nine, once I saw a newspaper in black and white four picture was printed first Michelangelo，1475—1564 second Titian (Tiziano Vecelli or Tiziano Vecellio, 1488—1576) the third is a picture of da Vinci(Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci, 1452—1519) and another one is a piece from Rembrandt I was so in shock how can people draw such beautiful pictures those touched my heart I wanted to learn fine arts I kept that newspaper for 19 years after that I went to Vienna I tried to collect 18 books of the arts from Rembrandt Michelangelo Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino, 1483—1520 da Vinci and some of the Spanish painters and artists I tried to learn and that became the original inspiration for me to build a museum when I was 15 years old I tried to take small radio my brother bought and he hid the radio into the cabinet but every night I would steal the radio out and listen to good music finally I found out every afternoon at 1 o'lock and at 7 o'lock everyday, Australia radio Alban Maria Johannes Berg，1885—1935 Beethoven, Haydn, Mozart, Mendelssohn and other great composers' music I started to listen to good music for eight hours a day for 15 years I don't think anyone of you have this kind of patience and have this kind of consistency to listen to good music eventually that became the foundation for me to conduct symphonies when I get older so I am doing culture mandate not because of reading Abraham Kuyber not because I went to music schools I never went to any music schools in the world I never went to school of philosophy in any university I never went to any theological seminary to be trained in reformed theology everything I am doing now was started from Autodidactic learning but I am not tired I never get exhausted but I'm always pursuing the truth ,the beauty and all the good music I can get with my whole heart I believe I'm one of the most diligent people in learning art learning music learning to compose learning to conduct and finally God gave me all these possibilities to become a cultural man I'm not afraid to debate with any music school graduates I'm not afraid to debate with any student from the philosophical school and finally I didn't went to philosophical school nor music school nor architectural study I had already designed the biggest Chinese church in the world that can accommodate 6,500 people I had already designed one of the best concert hall in the world because after 15 years, I realized that wood is more matured, and the acoustic is better than a lot of concert hall I know all the grace of God is enormous that I would never understand why all these had given to me? I'm not worthy, I'm not learned nor educated I don't have any degree of anything but I have owned everything, with my effort to serve the Lord when the Free University came to Indonesia the president said one word that I think is right what have been done by Steven Tong some of them never been done by Abraham Kuyper and Abraham Kuyper wanted to do this and that eventually, he didn't. I did I designed and built one of the best music hall in the world I created one of the most comprehensive understanding of the art in Indonesia and I built one of the biggest reformed church in the world all of these I did, was by the grace of God before I know who is Abraham Kuyper when I went to study theology, I learned there's a man called John Calvin,1509—1564 there's a man called Van Til, 1895–1987 there's a man called Abraham Kuyper and I tell you honestly, before I know them I was doing what they were doing and by the grace of God when I get older and older, everything that I've ever wanted became a reality everything that God put a burden in my heart become a reality in my actual reality today, I feel very unworthy I have to say this very humbly I don't know why many people come to Indonesia for me for this negligible useless man some came from Singapore, Hong Kong some from Taiwan and the United States, what for? but I give thanks to God because what I am doing, all because of a burden from God the vision from Jesus Christ and what I'm doing was written in the Bible what is the responsibility that every Christian would have? I have done it, now I'm a very old man I think I'm the oldest here beside one or two person whom I knew here I know you are all younger than me so I say to you serving the Lord is the most useful thing we can do in our lives serve the Lord worth the most in our lives praise God! a few years later I will be gone but I praise God rightnow I tell you a truth hidden secretly in my heart there are about 10 young person in Indonesia raised up by God they didn't went to theological school not in a very famous pastor's member but they are doing apologetics to represent Jesus Christ nowadays they learned the Bible very carefully and these young apologists is now on YouTube you didn't know that but I do, because sometime I listen to their preaching for five hours to their debate and their apologetics I was so touched and moved, sometime I cry because I see God is working in Indonesia now I return I want to understand does our seminary student do that? No! lots of seminary students are very lazy they don't want to evangelize nor take apologetical responsibility but those 10 young people I just mentioned one of them is a lady a very young man, only 22 or 23 years old, approaching he didn't went to seminary, but he can use Greek words, Hebrew words from the Old Testament from the New Testament he is a very diligent autodidactic person four weeks ago I met him, I encouraged him I said: I prayed for you every day I do not want to use you I do not want to be cheated I pray that you will be very stable and faithful while serving the Lord do you know how many people listened to his preaching and his apologetics on YouTube? in the last three weeks, it grew from 25,000 to 370,000 people He's a young man, with no theological education but when I listen to every word he said, and every Bible verse he quoted I believe that he is guided by the Holy Spirit just like when I was young, I was guided by the Holy Spirit I didn't have any degree I didn't have any diploma I didn't have any education when I was 17 years old but I already evangelized to people thousand and thousand of people now, one of the greatest prayer in my life is one day Indonesia will become a Christian country! amen you clap your hands, but I ask you: Do you believe that? you really believe that? What is the reason? You cannot tell me I believe I am praying all my life one day it will become a Christian country because of evangelization Let me tell you a secret I'm sorry, I used more time than I should he doesn't tire out, but my arms are getting tired no... even though you are tired I will continue Listen to me Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary Baptist Theological Seminary Fuller Theological Seminary Union Theological Seminary so many theological seminary are going to sell their campus but no one wanted to purchase Why are they selling? The secret is: they don't evangelize Listen carefully, this is a true prophet not a false one Any seminary which does not evangelize would be closed one day and any seminary which does not build church nor evangelizing people to be Christians they will be lack of money forever and ever Listen you notice: in The United States, Calvin University is rich because they have a church while Westminster is poor they don't have a church my seminary started from 1996 and until today, we are never lack of money because we have a church and we send 1,500 people to go evangelize everywhere in Indonesia With these kind of people, how can God depart from us? How can the Lord leave us? That is impossible! God said: My son go to the world and build up his own church and send people to evangelize If you despise Jesus Christ If you ignore what have been commanded by Jesus you will be very poor and no money will be given from God unto you but I'm not afraid even though my burden is so heavy our need of money is so big I never get worried because I'm doing the will of God: evangelizing people and pastoral care the flock of Jesus Christ God said: You obey my command, I will supply and provide your needs until the end of the world! Amen May God bless us I don't think I'm talking about something in vain I'm talking about things to rise up the soldiers of God To be faithful and serve Him fervently Gospel is the only secret of the richness in Jesus Christ only evangelization can change the world and let the kingdom of God flourish May God bless you! Finally, Dr. Andrew Gee come to Indonesia again and he answered the question about evolution, Darwinism, communism, Marxism and everything. Finally, I was convinced that only Bible is the truth. Only Jesus Christ is the Lord and Savior. Those people, Lenin, Stalin, they are cheating people and I return to Jesus Christ again. When one evening of the meeting by Andrew Gee, he gave us five cry from the Bible, Father, Son, Holy Spirit, Apostles and finally the cry from hell. I never heard any preacher talking about the cry from the hell. What is that? The rich man asked Abraham, please send Lazarus to go to my house because I still have five brothers, they don't know Christ. Convince them, make them Christians. So I was crying too. I say, even the people in hell, they love people and love to save the sinners more than Christians. Can I stand here? Can I stay? Not preaching, not evangelising people and waste my life. I cry until my shirt is all wet and I come forward to say, God, if you want to use me, here I am. I want to serve you until the end of my life. Every day, without stop, I am yours. That night is the night I rededicate myself to the Lord and never change in the rest of my life until today. I never regret even one second in my life because I am the Lord's servant. I didn't wait until I graduated from seminary. I didn't wait until I was ordained to be a preacher. I am the servant of God. I am the preacher. From that time, I buy thousands of the gospel tracts and I go to distribute to convince everybody, believe in Jesus. He's the only saviour. Besides Jesus, there's no redeemer, no hope for your life except you return to Jesus Christ until today. So when I see or I know somebody is distributing gospel tracts in the street, I love him to death because it reflects what I did when I was young. I buy 5,000 tracts. I promise to God every year preach to 5,000 people and invite them to come to Jesus Christ, not to church. Because I know a lot of churches are so cold, so unsympathetic to people. I do not want people evangelise and go to church and to be condemned to death there. I say you believe in Jesus, you should have fellowship with your friends, pray together and go to evangelise others because only Jesus can save us. I go every day on the street convincing people to believe in Jesus. I buy tickets of the train, go to other town house by house, go to distribute the tracts and ask people to believe in Jesus. Every year, thousands, thousands of tracts. I did that until I was 20 years old. Within the three years old, I preached 862 times in a Christian school to convince young students to believe in Jesus Christ. After 862 times preaching in the school, I go to Bible college. At that time, I was so enthusiastic to be trained in Bible, in theology to be a servant of God. Praise the Lord, my vision had not been made. My vision had not been changed until now. Just now and the first day I dedicate the same year by year go past. The zealous heart never changed. When Abraham Kuyper died, I was not born yet. After 20 years, I become a newborn baby. So I never know who is Abraham Kuyper. He has nothing to do with me and I had never been influenced by him even one inch. But afterward, I listened to Andrew Gee. I dedicate myself in his servants and I go to give tracts everywhere on the street. In the gate of the communist school, I go into the Catholic hospital room after room. I give tracts, I pray for the sick people. When I was nine, once I see a newspaper black and white, four pictures printed. First Michelangelo, second Titian, third is the picture of Da Vinci and another one is by Rembrandt. I was so shocked. How can people draw such a beautiful picture which is touching my heart? I want to be a learner of the fine arts. I keep the newspaper until 19 years. After that I went to Vienna. I try to collect about 18 books of the arts from Rembrandt, Michelangelo, Raffaello, Da Vinci, also some of the Spanish painters, Spanish artists. I try to learn and that became the original inspiration that I began a museum. When I was 15 years, I tried to get the small radio my brother bought and he tried to keep the radio into the cabinet. But I always every night steal the radio out and try to listen to good music. Finally I find out every one o'clock in the afternoon, every o'clock in the afternoon and every seven o'clock Radio Australia broadcast Beethoven, Haydn, Mozart, Mendelssohn and other great composers' music and I start to listen to good music every day, eight hours for 15 years. I don't think any one of you have this kind of patience and have this kind of consistency to listen to good music and finally that become the foundation that I can conduct symphonies when I get old. So I am doing culture mandate not because of reading Abraham Kuyper, not because I went to the School of Music. I never went to any school of music in the world. I never went to school of philosophy in any university. I never went to any theological seminary to be trained for the reformed theology. Everything I am doing now all start from autodidact. But I am not tired. I never very tired but I am always chasing with all my heart the truth, the beauty and all the good music I can get. I believe I am one of the most diligent people in learning art, learning music, learning composition, learning conductive and finally God gave me all these possibilities to become a cultural man. I am not afraid to debate with any graduate from any school of music. I am not afraid to debate with any student from the philosophical school and finally I didn't go to philosophical school, didn't go to school of music, didn't go to architectural study. I had already designed the biggest Chinese church in the world for 6,500 people. I had already designed one of the best concert halls in the world because after 15 years I realised the wood is more matured and the acoustic is better than a lot of concert halls I know. All the grace of God is so huge, so big that I never understand why all of this given to me. I am not worthy. I am not learned. I am not educated. I have no degree of anything but I have everything owned with my effort to serve the Lord. When Free University come to Indonesia, the President say one word, I think that is right. What is being done by Stephen Tong, some of them never be done by Abraham Kuyper. And Abraham Kuyper want to do this, want to do that, finally he didn't do it, I do it. I create one of the best music hall in the world. I create one of the most comprehensive understanding of the art in Indonesia. And I built one of the biggest reformed church in the world. All this is by the grace of God before I know who is Abraham Kuyper. When I go to study in theology, I learn, oh there is man called John Calvin. There is a man called Van Kiel. There is a man called Abraham Kuyper. And I honestly speaking to you, before I know them, I have been doing what they were doing. And by the grace of God, when I getting older and older, everything I want becomes realized. Everything God and burden in my heart becomes realized in my actuality, in my realization. Today I am very unworthy, I am very humble to say, I don't know why so many people come to Indonesia because of me. Why? Because of these very humble and useless men, some from Singapore, some from Hong Kong, some from Taiwan, some from United States, what for? But I thank God because what I am doing are all because the burden from God, the vision from Jesus Christ, and what I am doing is what is written in the Bible. What is the responsibility that every Christian should do. I have done it. Now I am very old man. I think I am the oldest among here, besides one or two person here, I know. You are all younger than me. So I tell you to serve the Lord is the most useful in our life. To serve the Lord is most worthy for our living. Praise God. Not many years after I will go, but now, praise God, I tell you one true hidden secret in my heart. I already find out about 10 person very young in Indonesia raised up by God without going to theological school, without being a very famous pastor's member, but they are now doing apologetics to represent Jesus Christ. They learn Bible very carefully and this young apologetics is now going on in YouTube. You don't know but I know it because sometimes I use five hours to listen to their preaching, to their debate, to their apologetics. I was so touched, so moved. Sometimes I cry because I see God is working in Indonesia. Now I return, I want to understand, is our seminary student doing that? No. A lot of seminary students are very lazy, do not want to evangelise, do not want to take apologetical responsibility. But those young people I mentioned just now, 10, one among them a lady, a very young man, only 22 to 23 years old, approaching. He didn't go to seminary, but he can use Greek words, Hebrew words from Old Testament, from New Testament. He is a very, very diligent, autodidact person. Four weeks ago I met him, I encouraged him, I said, I pray for you every day. I do not want to make use of you. I do not want to be cheated by you. I pray that you will be very stable and very faithful serving the Lord. Do you know how many people listen to his preaching and his apologetics in YouTube? In three weeks, the last three weeks from 25,000 now becomes 370,000 people. He's a young man, no theological education, but when I listen to every word and every Bible verse he quotes, I believe he is guided by Holy Spirit. Just when I was young, I was guided by Holy Spirit. I didn't have any degree, I didn't have any diploma, I didn't have any education when I was 17 years, but I already evangelized people, thousands of thousands of people. Now one of the greatest prayers in my life is one day Indonesia become Christian country. Amen? You clap hands, but I say, you believe that? Truly believe? What is the reason? You cannot tell me. I believe I am praying all my life one day become Christian country because of evangelization. Now I tell you one secret. I'm sorry, I have more time than what I should have. He doesn't tire out, but my arms are getting tired. No, even though you're tired, I still continue. Listen to me. Golden Gumbel, Baptist, Fuller, Union, so many theological seminary is going to sell their campus, but no one won. Why they sell? The secret is they don't evangelize. Listen well. This is a true prophet, not a false one. A seminary who is not evangelizing should close one day, and any seminary who is not building church and not evangelizing people to be Christian, they will lack of money forever and ever. You listen and you notice in United States where Calvin is rich because they have church. Where Westminster is poor, they don't have church. My seminary started from 1996, and until now, we never lack money because we have church and we send 1,500 people to go to evangelize in whole Indonesia. These kind of people, how can God depart from us? How can God leaving us? That impossible. God say, my son go to the world to build up his own church and send the people go to evangelize. If you despise Jesus Christ, if you ignore what have been commanded by Jesus, you will be very poor and no money will be given from God unto you. But I'm not afraid because even though my burden is so big, our need of money is so great, but I never worry because I'm doing the will of God, evangelizing people and pastoring the flocks of Jesus Christ. God say, you do my will. I supply and provide your needs until the end of the world. Amen. May God bless us. So I don't think I'm talking something in vain. I'm talking something to rise up all the soldiers of God to be faithful and to serve him fervently because only gospel is the secret of the richness in Jesus Christ.
